World Communion Sunday seeks to promote unity and communal worship among Christians worldwide by participating in the Eucharist on the same day. Initiated in 1933 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, World Communion Sunday was created as a local event to unite Christians in times of great distress, amid the Great Depression. Its powerful message of unity and hope quickly resonated with other churches, and by 1940, the observance had been adopted by the Federal Council of Churches and became a worldwide event.
Please join our Salem Church Family as we celebrate Worldwide Communion Sunday! A Fellowship Breakfast will follow at 10:30 am.
